American Le Mans Series Partners with Clean Cities Utah
Helping to win the race to a more efficient future
The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón and Utah Clean Cities Coalition join forces the week at the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix. The two groups will reinforce a similar message: the need to develop alternative fuels and energy sources along with sustainable practices and operations.
The American Le Mans Series, recognized as the Global Leader in Green Racing, is renowned for developing innovative automotive technology through its advanced, environmentally-efficient and alternatively fueled prototype and grand touring sports cars. Racing its second annual on-track eco-challenge with the return of the MICHELIN® GREEN X® Challenge to Utah, this race-within-a-race measures the petroleum consumption, fuel efficiency and greenhouse gases generated by all LMP and GT entries in an effort to acknowledge those manufacturers and teams that travel the farthest, the fastest with the smallest carbon footprint.
The Utah Clean Cities Coalition, which operates within the U.S. DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy's Vehicle Technologies Program, will align with the Series on specific events and promotions during race week. Its similar emphasis will include the advancement of alternative fuels and advanced vehicles, fuel blends, fuel economy, hybrid vehicles, and idle reduction.
