Utah Clean Cities
Coalition is one of over 80
coalitions around the country that
are part of the U.S. Department of
Energy's strategy to reduce America's
dependence on imported oil. The Clean
Cities' collective goal, nationwide,
is to reduce this country's import
needs by one million barrels of oil
per day by the year 2020. To achieve
the noble aim, we must think globally
and work locally. Utah Clean Cities
gives you many opportunities to make a
difference that you can see.

It's easy to feel
overwhelmed by the issues, but every
individual can make a significant
impact. Consider making choices that
will reduce your dependence on
petroleum fuels. If you are not
prepared to purchase an alternative
fuel vehicle, you can assist with
public education and special events.
Lay the ground work for a cleaner and
more secure future. Join the Utah
Clean Cities coalition of
governments, private organizations,
and individuals. You will be given
ample opportunity to participate in
your community.
Legislation
The Legislative
Committee is a good example of the
importance of committee work for the
organization. Utah Clean Cities’
stakeholders actively champion local,
state and federal legislation that
supports and encourages the use of
alternative fuels, other energy
security strategies and advanced
transportation technologies.
Education
From grade schools to
large-scale corporations, Utah Clean
Cities is valuable contributor to
increasing public awareness and
understanding through education. Utah
Clean Cities will meet with any
interested group, business, or
organization to familiarize
management, fleet personnel, and rank
and file employees about the benefits
of including AFVs and other energy
saving strategies in their fleets. We
have presentations prepared to answer
any questions you or your
organization might have about
adopting a petroleum reduction policy
for any organization.
