Coffee with a Researcher 5: Integrating Micromobility with Transit and other Modes

May 25, 2023 | 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET | Add to calendar | Google Calendar

Micromobility, a term that covers a variety of human-powered and/or electric-assisted small vehicles, has emerged as a useful mode for augmenting existing transportation options and enabling right-size vehicle choices, primarily for short or multimodal trips. E-scooters are common in many urban areas, and e-bikes have rapidly increased in popularity as users discover their convenience and utility as quick and inexpensive transport. Some micromobility vehicles, such as e-cargo bikes, are capable of meeting delivery or family use needs. A DOE VTO-funded project titled Micromobility Integrated Transit and Infrastructure for Efficiency (MITIE) is working to expand understanding of how micromobility options are used and how they may help to shift people toward more energy-efficient mobility.

In this “Coffee with a Researcher” webinar, Clean Cities coalitions will learn how micromobility options may be integrated in transportation plans at different scales to reduce barriers to mobility access and transportation energy use. The session will provide an opportunity for the MITIE team to receive real-time input about micromobility issues and concerns that are most important for Clean Cities coalitions and their stakeholders.

This webinar series is open to coalitions and their stakeholders, and participants are encouraged to invite local and regional government or nonprofit partners that are interested in shifting and tracking travel patterns. To attend, register for this webinar with Zoom.
