EV Charging at Multi-Unit Dwellings
Multi-unit dwellings (MUDs) account for approximately 34% of the U.S. housing inventory in major metropolitan areas; however, less than 5% of home charging takes place at MUDs.
The U.S. Department of Energy funded this 3-year market transformation project to develop a comprehensive view of the MUD and curbside residential charging market and develop solutions for overcoming the major barriers to widespread plug-in electric vehicle (PEV; BEVs and PHEVs) charging deployment.
The presentation will share the research on MUD charging barriers and provide an overview of innovative technologies to address common barriers. Lastly the presentation will also share the lessons learned from the demonstration projects and best practices for MUD charging implementation.
