The Volvo Group: Zero Emission Construction Equipment

The Volvo Group will give a presentation on their development progress in low or zero-emission construction equipment. The presentation will first discuss the drivers and trends for low or zero-emission technologies, the enabling technologies Volvo is focused on, and the challenges to overcome. After this theoretical grounding, a few examples of Volvo’s new concepts and commercial products they are launching in the short term will be discussed, ending with an open question and answer session.

Dr. Ray Gallant currently holds the position of Vice-President Product Management and Productivity for Volvo Construction Equipment, part of the Volvo Group of companies. Ray is responsible for Region America’s vision for future product development and technology, sales and operator training programs, customer center operations, the Volvo CE demonstration program, and other required sales support activities.
Ray is a forest engineer, with over 25 years of working in product development, product planning, and sales and marketing with various equipment products. He believes we are on the cusp of exciting emerging technologies that will transform the industry and open up opportunities in efficiency, productivity, safety, and operator comfort.
Ray holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Science in Forest Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, a Master of Science in Management degree from Boston University, and his Doctor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in International Business.
Ray and his wife (Wendy) and two children (Josee and Alex) reside in Chambersburg, PA
