Webinar: Community Charging Models

April 25 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Community Charging Models
The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (Joint Office) will host a webinar on community charging. The purpose is to inform on key considerations of community charging models and how electric vehicle (EV) charging can meet community needs and support equitable and widespread EV adoption.

The U.S. Department of Energy Vehicle Technologies Office has previously funded projects that support community charging, including curbside EV charging, EV car share, EV charging for multifamily (MFH) housing, and EV mobility hubs.

Lessons learned from these projects can help identify best practices for communities pursuing electrification, including engaging stakeholders, strategies for improving the equitable distribution of project benefits, site selection factors, and permitting/policy elements that could impact the project.

The conversation will be structured as follows:
  • Introduction from the Joint Office
  • Overview of lessons learned from community charging models
  • Highlights from market research on MFH charging
  • Discussion featuring community charging panelists.

Audience members will leave the webinar with a better understanding of best practices for planning for and implementing community charging models.

Steve Lommele, interim communications and stakeholder engagement lead for the Joint Office, will moderate the webinar and discussion panel. You can ask questions ahead of time by placing them in the “Questions & Comments” field on the Zoom webinar registration form.
