Annual Report Resources
The DOE Clean Cities & Communities program supports local initiatives that reduce petroleum use through alternative fuels, vehicle technologies, and efficiency strategies. Coalitions report annual data on projects and outcomes, which DOE and NREL analyze to measure petroleum and GHG reductions. This report highlights those impacts for Utah Clean Cities and Communities. Why is this report important?
This annual report is a comprehensive and valuable resource quantifying Utah’s collective GGE and emissions reductions from alternative fuel fleets. Annual Report data is verified by the Department of Energy based on the information you provide.
Fleets who submit data receive an individualized summary report of their fleet information and emission reduction analysis.

GHG Reduction in UT 2024
Idle reduction policies covered 1.1 million vehicles -the largest emissions reduction in 2024.
Alternative fuel and hybrid fleets delivered 44.6% of GHG reductions.
EVs contributed 10% of 2024 GHG reductions, primarily in high-utilization fleets.

Idle reduction covered 51% of GHG Reduction in 2023.
Alternative fuel delivered 39% of GHG reductions in 2023.
EVs contributed 7.3% of 2023 GHG reductions.
